Pocketpair Publishing has announced that it will publish Clicky Islands, a single-player incremental city builder developed by the two-person Polish studio Karrot Games.
The game combines clicker mechanics, resource management, and settlement construction into a surprisingly addictive loop. Players become a governor appointed by the king and must transform a small village on an unexplored island into a prosperous kingdom.
From Clicking to Automation
Resources initially need to be gathered manually. As the settlement expands, you can recruit residents, assign jobs, and automate production. New buildings introduce increasingly complex production chains, allowing the colony to continue generating resources without constant input — the hallmark of any great incremental game.
Permanent Progression and Procedural Islands
Progress also extends beyond individual islands. Reputation can be invested into a permanent skill tree that provides bonuses during subsequent runs, while fossils discovered in ancient ruins can be converted into artifacts with gameplay-altering effects. Each island is procedurally generated according to the perks players have unlocked, ensuring no two runs feel quite the same.
Free Demo Available Now
A free demo is currently available on Steam, where it holds a Very Positive user rating. The full game has not yet been given a specific release date or price.
Final Word
Clicky Islands looks like a charming addition to the incremental genre — the kind of game that starts with a simple click and slowly reveals layers of complexity beneath its cozy surface. Pocketpair Publishing, best known for the phenomenon that was Palworld, seems to have an eye for projects with broad appeal.
We’ll be watching for a release date and price announcement in the coming months.
