Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate Gets Physical Release and a Mystery DLC Character

Super Evil Megacorp has announced that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is getting a physical release and a new DLC character — giving fans of the beat-’em-up roguelike even more reason to dive back into the sewers.

The physical Legendary Edition is planned for Nintendo Switch 2 and will launch on October 27th. It will include the newly announced mystery DLC character, along with a host of premium content.

What’s in the Legendary Edition?

The retail Legendary Edition is packed with content, including:

  • A fan-favorite playable character DLC — to be revealed soon

  • Casey Jones & the Junkyard Jam expansion — a brand-new Junkyard level featuring intense boss fights, a fresh narrative, and the iconic Casey Jones as a playable character

  • Metalhead & Alopex playable characters — Metalhead, Splintered Fate’s first fully ranged fighter, joins alongside Alopex, the mutant arctic fox and former ninja assassin who became one of the Turtles’ most trusted allies. Both heroes bring their own unique combat styles to the fight.

  • Digital Art Book — a behind-the-scenes collection of concept art and final designs for characters, locations, key art, and icons

  • All free content updates — including the fan-favorite Arcade Mode

Pre-orders are available now at all major retailers.

Behind the Scenes and What’s Next

To celebrate the journey so far, the studio has released Behind the Scenes of Splintered Fate: The Journey So Far, featuring narrative designer Tom Waltz (co-author of The Last Ronin and countless IDW comics), voice acting legends like Yuri Lowenthal and Dominic Catrambone, and members of the dev team. Extended deep-dive editions on narrative and art are coming soon.

The studio also teased that this is far from the end of the journey for TMNT: Splintered Fate — with “incredibly exciting things” heading our way later this summer.

Final Word

Whether you’re a physical collector, a Casey Jones stan, or just looking for an excuse to jump back into the Turtles’ latest adventure, the Legendary Edition looks like a shell of a good time. Keep an eye out for that mystery DLC character reveal — and don’t sleep on those pre-orders.
